I am tired of my morning workouts at home. I bought a BUNCH of DVDs on sale at the first of the year and they are great. But I'm not motivated to do them anymore. I have been bored, which means I haven't been working out in the mornings.
So I decided to try going to the gym. This takes a bit more planning (taking a bag to get ready for work at the gym, sleeping in my workout clothes, packing lunch the night before)....but I am enjoying it.
On Monday, I was planning on doing some treadmill running and then some weights. Well, I left my headphones at home...and there was NO WAY I was going to make it through a run without listening to music or a podcast. So I stumbled into the boot camp class.
It. Was. Awesome.
If you would have told me a few years ago that I would get up at 4:30, drive to the gym, and workout for an hour before work, and like it, I would have laughed in your face. But I totally did!
The first morning, it was like Jillian Michaels Live. We did one minute of weights, and then ran a lap around the track. By the end of the class, we had run a mile...did about 25 minutes of weights, 10 minutes of abs, and stretched. I LOVED it.
This morning was a bit tougher. It was a circuit that was more "on your own." Sure, we were all working out together, but you could go at your own pace. A little more mental and a LOT harder physically. But I like it. I like the challenge.
I'm planning on hitting boot camp up a couple times a week. They offer it three mornings a week...but I might save Fridays for running only. I dunno. Or I might get addicted and go three times a week. Not like its bad for me!
So yeah. I stumbled into boot camp and fell in love. Who woulda thunk it?

You GO GIRL! So proud of you and all you are accomplishing for your health!!! I just wish some of your exercise addiction would rub off on me! ***JUST A LITTLE!!!*** (wink)
ReplyDeleteYou'll be teaching that class before you know it!!! Wahoo!
You go girl!!
ReplyDeleteWas the class at Marvin Altman? My friend Sarah teaches a morning bootcamp class there on Mondays and Wednesdays. I go to the bootcamp class at lunch. LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteYup! That's the one! I am LOVING it! I teach Zumba there in the evenings...come by sometime! I would love to know who this is.... :)
DeleteMy name is Misty. I don't have a blog, just a blog stalker :) I keep telling myself I'm going to start a blog for just journaling life. I stumbled across your blog through Kelly's Korner. I was excited to find a local gal to follow. You've given me many ideas where to eat. And I also had a bad experience with Hank's. Hope you finally got that resolved. Unfortunately I cannot work out in the evenings. I have 2 kiddos at home. With hubby's schedule and school activities for my son (since when do 2nd graders have so many activities?!?!), evenings just don't work for me. So, I have to go at lunch time. I told Sarah that you blogged about her class. She's going to check it out :)
DeleteWell hello there Misty! :) Thanks for following! Yeah, I have to workout because we love to eat! ha! Well, if you ever get a free night...I'd love to meet you! :) Thanks for reading!
DeleteHey Brittney!!

And we finally resolved with Hanks. The whole situation makes me so mad I can't even write about it without raising my blood pressure...so I just let it go. ha!
DeleteHey Sarah! Glad to have found you! OF COURSE it was all positive! :) You kicked my butt in the best way! :) Thanks!
DeleteYeah..I'm glad!! Remember I won't be there Friday so I'll see you Monday! Have a great weekend :)
